Decorative full-size Japanese samurai-style armor (gusoku/yoroi), featuring a black-lacquered helmet (kabuto) with an oversized gilt crescent-form crest (kuwagata) and an expressive beast-form front ornament (maedate) with applied whiskers and horns.
The suit includes a black-lacquered face mask and laminated neck defense (yodarekake), with lamellar/plate elements extensively laced in tan and indigo cords (odoshi) across the cuirass, shoulder guards, and skirt lames.
The cuirass (do) shows decorative metal fittings and cord work with tasselled ties at the front; the lower defenses (kusazuri) are formed of multiple laced tiers. Arm defenses include patterned textile sleeves and a visible chainmail-style kote section at one arm with lacquered reinforcement.
The lot also includes a green-painted storage/display chest with iron hardware, decorated to the front with a large gold-painted kanji character within a diamond reserve.
Adult Size.
